Time to Say Good-Bye...

When you called me up this morning
I don't know why I grabbed the phone
I wanted to avoid you
But I didn't want to feel alone.

So I talked to you again
But I still felt alone inside
You asked "Is this a bad time?"
And when I said "No" I lied.

How can I tell you what I feel
When I know you just don't care
I've try to tell you what I want
But it seemed like you weren't there.

And now it's time to say good-bye
And keep the tear-drops from my eye
I have to wish you well and then
Ask that you never call again
If you find yourself alone
Please don't call me on the phone
I won't answer, I won't try
Because it's time to say good-bye.

At times I feel so foolish
'Cause I thought that you felt more
But you never asked about my day
After you told me about yours

We've been talking now for months
But we've never changed the tone
So now I feel it's time to end it
This relationship with my phone

I tried to find the words to tell you
But I always seem to come up blank
At times I seem so hopeless
And I don't know who to thank.

And now it's time to say good-bye
And keep the tear-drops from my eye
I have to wish you well and then
Ask that you never call again
If you find yourself alone
Please don't call me on the phone
I won't answer, I won't even try
Because it's time to say good-bye.
